Landmark Inn Policies


Check in time begins at 4:00pm. 
If you arrive before 4:00pm and your room is not ready, you are welcome to leave your car in our parking lot while you enjoy the town. Please call (607) 547-7225 if you expect to be later than 7:00pm.


Check out time is 11am.


Reservations require a 50% deposit of the total reservation. Credit card deposits will be processed at the time of the reservation.
Final payment will be charged to the credit card on file 14 days before the start of your reservation. View our privacy policy for credit card processing.
For reservations of 4 or more rooms, customers will be charged in full 30 days before the start of the reservation.


As an intimate property with limited room inventory, we must adhere strictly to the following cancelation policies:
– Reservations 3 days or less require a 14-day notice of cancelation
– Reservations 4 days or more require a 30-day notice of cancelation
Per the details above, deposits for canceled reservations will be refunded minus a processing fee of 10% of the initial deposit made at the time of reservation. Cancelations/alterations made outside of the listed policies dates will be charged in full. Wedding or group reservations are subject to a 45-day notice of cancelation.

Reservations made through a third-party website are bound to the cancelation policies agreed to when booking on their website. Any reservations made on a third-party website must be canceled through the third-party website.

Please note: No shows will be charged in full. 

If your reservation is part of a wedding block, or other group block subject to a contract, the terms of our contract supersede this policy. Please refer to it or your group host for details.


Henry’s HideawayPetite Provence I and Petite Provence II are the only Landmark Inn’s dog-friendly rooms. We welcome well-behaved dogs under 30 pounds for an additional fee of $50 a night. A portion of this fee will be donated to the Susquehanna Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Trained service animals for physical assistance, as defined under the ADA, are not subject to the pet fee. Emotional support, therapy, comfort, or companion animals do not qualify as service animals under the ADA, and will therefore be subject to the regular pet fee. Please keep your pet on a leash outside and in a carrier when you are not in your room. In consideration of all Landmark Inn guests and staff, a pet must never be left unattended in the guestroom.


While best suited for children over 12 years of age, all well behaved children are welcome in our designated family rooms (Chance, Campanella, Metcalf only) however please consider:

  1. That the Landmark Inn is furnished in fine upholstery and antiques, and we will have no choice but to assess and charge you for any damage during your stay.
  2. Many guests choose the Landmark for its elegance and quiet atmosphere, and the innkeepers have a responsibility to assure their comfort. We will address any issues with you.
  3. In order to prepare our gourmet breakfast each morning, we cannot cook to order. Many children find our breakfasts overwhelming.

Additional Guests
Each room is priced for 2 people. Each additional guest over 2 people will incur a $35 charge per person, per night, per room. Some rooms cannot accommodate more than 2 people, and none of our rooms can accommodate more than 3 people per fire code restrictions.

Smoke Free Cooperstown

The Landmark Inn is a smoke-free hotel, including all shared porches. A $500 fee will be assessed to any guest who smokes in the inn.

Key Policy

All room keys & key chains must be returned to the hotel front desk upon departure. Failure to return them will result in an additional $100 lock replacement charge.

Notice To Guests

The Landmark Inn is a small independent business and the management reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. We would like to provide a peaceful and relaxing environment for all of our guests. Quiet hours of 10 PM – 8 AM are strictly enforced indoors. Cooperstown has an outdoor sound ordinance of 10 PM. Any guests who do not respect our policies and/or interrupt the experience of other guests, will be asked to leave without a refund. Management will not be responsible for accidents, injury to guests, for loss of money, jewelry, or valuables of any kind. Nor will management be responsible for items left in the room.

Accessible Accommodations

Landmark Inn warmly welcomes all guests. However, due to the historic significance of our 1856 Mansion, the property has limited wheelchair accessibility. We have however worked to remove barriers where possible so all guests can enjoy our elegant and peaceful choice in Cooperstown.

  • The Petite Provence II room is located on the first floor and is wheelchair accessible. Features of this room include open spaces and wide doorways as well as a walk-in shower with bench and grab bars in the toilet and sink area of the bathroom. There is a ramp for entrance from the ample parking area.
  • For our guests who can maneuver limited steps, we offer the following rooms: Petite Provence I room requires two steps to enter, The Chance Suite has a small set of 4-5 steps to enter and Henry’s Hideaway does offer a ramp with rails for assistance, however, there is one small step to get onto the ramp and one step to the entrance of the room.
  • With advance notice, there is a ramp that is available for entrance to the Inn.
  • From the entrance to the Inn, guests have access to all common areas, dining room, and check-in area.
  • We do not have an elevator.
  • We are happy to help you with your luggage.
