A charming nineteenth century bed and breakfast, the Landmark Inn stands proudly in the heart of historic Cooperstown, New York. Situated on two acres in the center of the village, the Landmark Inn offers a convenient, comfortable home for guests enjoying a memorable family vacation, a successful business gathering, an exploration of the Leatherstocking region, or a reunion with friends and family. With a spacious back lawn, the inn is the perfect place for small receptions and other gatherings.
In January 2003 the Landers began an extensive restoration/upgrade of the Landmark Inn property. On May 21, 2003, the doors were reopened to guests, and the reviews have been wonderful! Here are some of the fabulous changes you will experience when you visit this magnificent mansion:
Exposed cherry and chestnut floors in living room, dining room, and guest rooms
Expanded dining room to its original size
Returned fireplaces to working order
Added two bathrooms—one with a jacuzzi tub that rests next to the original chimney and one with an 11-jet "dream shower"
Completely redesigned rooms
Redecorated entryway and hallways with faux painting
Redecorated powder room
Added telephones to all guest rooms
Upgraded all beds upgraded with designer bedding and feather duvets
Added gourmet/commercial size (340 square feet) kitchen to create mouth-watering breakfasts
Added wonderful, rich colors to the walls
Added video and game library
Upgraded electrical and plumbing
Upgraded heating
Upgraded sprinkler system
The Landers' goal is to return this property to its original splendor of the 1800s while providing all the amenities you would find in a fine hotel. The future plans will include repainting the exterior of the Inn, reinstating the exquisite porches, and re-creating the Victorian gardens that once adorned this two-acre property. |
